Do you have to stop and think about this question? Or is your plan, purpose and passion all rolled into one. This is rare that people know what it is that they are really all about, all the time. Do you know without really stopping to think what you are focusing on today? Most are spread thin, and too often I find myself among them. It seems I am thinking I must do all of these things today. Many things I am trying to focus on and in the process I lose sight of the main thing.
This is not a long devotional this morning but one that I hope makes you think about what is important and what is not. It did me as I read my daily Scripture this morning. The what is not important. The who is important. Too many things too often overwhelm us into a state of distraction. See if this passage can bring you back to focus this morning. Then go have a great day.
1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3 NAS
Focus on Jesus not on the World.
