...too small a thing...: Palm Sunday

Isaiah 49:6 tells the prophet he is to be a light to the nations, and so should each of us that know the grace of the Lord. This is indeed the greater task to which we should aspire. Isaiah was shortsighted and thought he was only a minister to the Hebrews but God said that task was ...Too Small A Thing... and that He would be a witness to the enitre earth. And so he wrote a book we read 2700 years later.

Palm Sunday

Today is Palme Sunday the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem. They people cheered, "Hosanna, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" Jesus sat humbly on a donkey. The people cheered, but He knew they would soon turn away. He knew they would lose interest in spiritual things as they wanted an earthy king. They wanted their earthly needs met and Jesus came to meet our eternal need for eternal life.

In order to meet this need he told Nicodemus that we would have to be reborn. As I finish up my work in Ethiopia today I am starting to think of coming home and the next Sunday's message at Piney Grove.
This greatest need we have in life is to be "REBORN." This is a captivating thought. Nicodemus did not understand it at all but Jesus Explains it so well.

Pray for Tommy this morning as he preaches on Palm Sunday at Piney Grove and This week consider reading the Gospel accounts of the Crucifixion of Jesus. The death of Jesus s the reason we can have life but our new life is a result of being "REBORN."
