What do you need this morning? Monday morning UGH, is that the way you feel? Or are you feeling Monday morning, alright a new week to get some things done. Your perspective and attitude is always really important on what will take place today.
Today will be fulll of moments. Many are rountine, but there may be some moments that are outstanding. These special moments are hidden in among the routine ones, but they are ripe with opportunity to say something that will encourage someone. There may be a moment to glorify the Lord with the appropriate words of praise for Him, and what He has done. Are you entering this day with a eye to look for such a moment?
I am often called upon to help people who are troubled or in pain to deal with the fact that they are hurting and troubled by their circumstances. All I have is words. I just talk to them and they are dealing with real feelings of pain on the inside. Maybe it is depression, grief, or emotional pain and they are very distraught. Or maybe it is physical pain. Most of the time it is some combination of all of the above that takes people to the point that they will be willing to cry out. "Why don't you call the Preacher?" someone may say. When they do call, then they begin to tell me their troubles. I listen to hear all the details of their circumstances knowing there is an answer, but It may not be the one they want to hear.
All I have is words. Often people want action from me. They want something more than I can give them. All I have is words. But the fact is the words I have are not my words. God's Words are what I have. You have them too. They are all in the Bible. But sometimes people do not know which words of God to think about or to begin to dwell on in the middle of their pain.
All I have is Words but the words I have from God are TRUTH. Truth always has a companion with it. The companion is Hope. Where there is Truth there is Hope. Sometimes it may seem overwhelming if someoene you know is struggling or even if you are struggling with issues in your life. But there are some words for you in God's word for comfort, guidance, strength, and hope. But you see there is a catch here. The words are not Truth for you until you will believe them.
Colossians 1:3-5 (NLT)
Col 3 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, 5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.
My friend I do not know your circumstance this morning. I do not know what you face today. But I do know the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. I also know that all I can do for you is what Paul did. I can pray for you and give thanks to God for you and your faith. If you do not have the "confident hope" you need to get you through the day, Give words a chance. Give the truth a chance. Do not believe Satan's lie that there is no hope. The words of God are True. But they are not Truth for you unless you believe them.
There is always Hope in Christ.
John 16:33 (NLT)
Jn 33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
