Have you ever had someone say this to you? When someone behaves or acts some way that it out of the normal pattern of behavior for them some might say, "What got into you?" I guess it is asking what thought, or thinking could have made you act the way that you did. I hope that your behaviors and actions each day are a true reflection of what is in you.
So ask yourself then, what is in you? A lot of experience when you are as old as I am. A lot of things you have said and done in the past. Some good and sadly some bad. What else is in me? As much as I able Truth that I have found in the Holy Scripture. This, I try to pack a little more of into my mind each day. Of course this influences me I believe in a good way. But I am sad to report to you I have let some bad stuff into my mind in the past. Things I would not want to share at all with anyone. Those bad things are still there. Forgiven? Yes, but I can still remember them. There are many things in me that will influnce me in what I say and do, and you are not any different than me. We have stuff in our minds and some of the things in our minds have dropped into our hearts to guide us in our lives daily. So then what is in our hearts guides us as we make choices as to what we want to put more of into us.
Now what is most important? No doubt I can sum this up as to what needs to be in you, and the only thing you have to have in just a few of Paul's words from the letter to the Colossians.
Colossians 1:27 (NASB)
to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
There is the thought. Christ In You. The Hope of Glroy. That is real and life changing. So if someone ask you today, "What got into you?" I hope you have the answer in one word - "Jesus."
