Last night and this morning I have wrestled with what to write about. Usually something will jump out at me and I feel sure this is what I should put up a post about. But not so in the last few hours as I sought a worthy subject to place on this blog.
I could write about the Texas Flood. Many are reporting and it is a tragedy and they need help. I would go help if I had a place and a path to be of good use there.
I could write about the Sudan and Christians huddled in tent cities in fear for their lives.
I could write about Trump. There seems to be no end of things to say.
I could write about Thailand and people dying there with poison water from bad wells.
I could write about the pain of the weekend as I visited in 4 different funeral homes and conducted two funeral services.
I could write about my parents as it seems so many of you read and sympathize with me when I update you on them. They are doing OK but life is difficult for them living in Assisted living. They really are not happy there but we have no choice except a Nursling Home.
North Korea would be a subject we could offer thought about and the threat of war.
Racism is still in the news too. I image someone will be upset about an old stone statue somewhere today.
I could write about the police issues that I know officers have and I am working with now. But many of these are personal and I do not wnt to put anything out publicly.
I could write about my health which is good but at 62 I do have concerns.
Yes there seems to be no end of things to put on the page but none are the thing to do this morning.
So I think the moment merits a couple of verses so we can both move on in this busy and crazy world we live in. I think if we keep these in mind we can function no matter what is going on.
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
So do not let the world with all of it's trouble weigh you down this morning. If you have the Lord Jesus as you Savior, stop and give thanks and realize that the world is going to be full of trouble but that He overcame the world. And He continues to do so every day.
