Tonight will be the second meeting of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers meeting for a New North Metro Chapter. We will meet at Wallace BBQ to eat and talk and hopefully organize for a recruitment and foundational meeting of the Chapter in March. There is such a great need for an organization that is not a part of the government but supports and disciples the men and women who serve in the very difficult profession of Law Enforcement.
There is no other profession that is like being a Cop. Military Service is the closet thing but the commitment to military usually takes you away from home and you will not see family or friends for extended periods of time. Being in Law Enforcement means you face the "local enemies" or those who break our laws and live among us. The officer may encounter them at the supermarket or even the doctors office. This can become awkward if you face someone at church you just arrested last week for domestic violence.
The occupation faces a group of people daily who are the underbelly of society. Drunks, druggies, perverts, thieves and con artist are not people most want to meet and deal with their issues but officers do every day. Coming together as a group of the men and women who know the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be a welcome and powerful blessing for these who will join.
Pray for the organizational group as we meet tonight at Wallace BBQ at 7:00 pm to eat and hopefully organize ourselves to move forward with the launch of this New Chapter of the FCPO.
