Five AM on Sundays is always a time of prayer for me. I am preparing to preach and teach and I seek the Lord for wisdom and ability to say anything on His behalf. This morning is no exception but it is a bit different. Oh I will be preaching at 11:00 AM but I will not be teaching Sunday School this morning nor will I preach tonight. Seems a bit like a light day. But this is a very special day because we will make a presentation about remodel of Piney Grove Baptist Church this morning to be voted on in a week, And we will vote this morning on the proposal to add 4 people to the Staff of Piney Grove Baptist Church which is also a huge step forward. I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity. History is going to be made today.
John Wayne once Said:
“Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.
I like this saying as Piney Grove is looking at tomorrow with the decisions we are making today. But whatever the outcome of today and next Sunday we must keep the truth of God's word first.
Proverbs 16:9 ESV The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.
I have learned many things in ministry over the last 27 years and I know that I can trust the Lord. I know that no matter what course I take it will be OK. I Know that He is with me and will not abandon me. Hiring the four staff members at one time is a huge event and will in many ways shape the course of the future so much more than a building project will. The two of the things together has a potential to bring explosive growth for the Lords work. It is however work and a positive vote today will be the moment we start.
