I use the blog to do many different things and some are fun and some are a little boring. This morning I want to give a few updates on things.
NOONDAY BUILDERS FOR CHRIST - This is really boring as I have nothing to tell you except that we are still working to look for work for this year. The economy and banking policies that are now in place have all but eliminated new churchs using volunteer labor. The leadership team of last years trip will be meeting on Feb 2 to look at some options. So we are asking folks to pray for what an where the Lord wants us this year, and for what He would have us do.
CLASSROOM BLUES - by 5:00 pm today I will have spend 76 hours in class this month. I am involved in three different classes. Of course one I am teaching as we are half way through the January Blitz for the Burnt Hickory Bible Institute on the Introductory course. I have a great class. Second I have finished the first week of the Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Instructor Course. I now must write a paper that is a teaching plan according to POST Standards. This is pretty time consuming ad means an additional 20+ hours outside of class. I am about half done on this and will finish early next week. I still have a full week of class for this course starting Jan 30. And third I took the first half of a class to certify me as an Anger Managment Specialist yesterday and I will complete the course today by 5:00pm.
LESOTHO TRIP - Bruce and his team are getting ready and will be leaving March 2 to teach and work with the same group of pastors we were with last fall. They are doing fantastic in the BTCP Courses. I have purchased the tickets and they are almost ready.
PUBLIC SAFETY LIFE GROUP AT BHBC- What a great group they have grown to become. Attendance is up and the amount of spiritual growth among them is very obvious. They are seeking to serve the Lord Jesus. They are loving each other and it is very fulfilling to teach this group.
FAMILY STUFF - Brittany will get a Drivers liscence next week. (We hope.) She is in school at GA Highlands and driving to Cartersville seems to be getting longer after hours in the classroom and so soon she will be able to drive herself.
NICARAGUA - Not too much happening in Haulover but we continue to support Dennis and Dorcus as they are working. Leading Bible studies and preparing for the House of Prayer. We will be meeting next week. Chris Garrett prepared a proposal for steel for the Children's Center on Corn Island and we are waiting to hear what Mr Jorge want to do. Loyd and Alma Miguel have spent this week in Texas with Jim and Viola Palmer doing a orientation to prepare the young couple to move into the compound in Puerto Cabeza right away and direct the ministry there. We hope we may start BTCP training in Nicaragua this year.
BLUE HOPE COUNSELING - Well this brings me back to the classroom stuff. Most of what I am doing in the classroom is preparing me for the work at BLUE HOPE. I have had the opportunity to speak to the several groups of Officers about the work and I am geared up. So far only a few have been counseled. I ask for your prayers on this as there is so much need and I am ready but funding and financial consideration of the support for this ministry are very important and we seek the Lord's guidance.
A busy month indeed and still 10 days to go. I told you this was a little boring today. So I thought I would throw in a couple of cartoons about classroom life. Thank for reading.
