What a great trip we had. The above picture was made the morning we left Alamakimba and started back to Rosita. The team picture includes everyone on the Medical Team, USA team, translators, National Pastors, and the Cuban doctor who operates the clinic. The only person not in the picture is Jim Palmer the IMB missionary.
The trip was planned and executed wonderfully and the results speak to its success.

The team of pastors talked with local leaders and an opportunity to purchase a property to build a church building was found out on the edge of town that could be purchased for about $300.00 the US Team took up a collection and a little under $350.00 was collected to enable the purchase of this land. Plans to start meeting as new baptist church are laid. In two weeks pastor Jonton will return to baptize and hold services and follow up on many who are interested in the new work. This was the first part of the trip.
The majority of the team left for Managua the capital city and home on Friday but Pastor Jonton, Jim Palmer, David Meriwether and I went deep into the rain forest to Musawas to talk with local Myagna leaders about future work for the spread of the gospel. It was a very difficult and muddy walk into Musawas. It took the team 6 hours to hike in the last two in the dark. Two days were spent with local leaders talking about needs and developing the ideas of Biblical story telling. The Myagna people are oral learners and the use of biblical story telling will be one of the most effective ways to spread the teaching of Jesus Christ. The photo is of the meeting that lasted several hours longer than we expected and had wonderful spirit and we believe a real unity purpose for all parties.
The last day of the trip was spent in Managua where we had the opportunity to look at a senior adult home in bad need of some repair and then revisited the church we worked on in August to check progress and talk with the pastor about possibly teaming up with us for future work in Nicaragua. What a great Trip.
