Northpoint Baptist Church will soon be a new mission church in Sand Point Idaho. Last week I was fortunate to see the idea of a mission become a reality. The photo is a discussion between Rev Bill Hohenstreet of Post Falls Baptist, Bart Casey of Lakeview Funeral Home, and Jacky Lord who are making arrangements for services to begin at the funeral home on Oct 21.Jacky Lord has been talking about this for a year now. Bill Hohenstreet's church Post Falls Baptist has agreed to sponsor the mission and Bill will be doing the preaching for the first few months. The community of Sand Point has over 20,000 people and no Southern Baptist Church. When I returned from Idaho Kathy and I have been working on a sign for the Mission and with approval from Burnt Hickory Baptist have produced and printed a 4 X 8 banner to serve as a sign for the mission.
There are about a dozen people who will be canvassing neighborhoods inviting people to the first service scheduled for the 21 of October. This was a bonus event for me while I was in Idaho. The passion of both Bill and Jacky was contagious. They are excited and energized about the start and willing to do whatever it takes. Bill will be preaching two services at his church then driving about 60 miles to Sand Point to conduct the services at 2 PM on Sundays. Pray for Northpoint Baptist as they become a reality. Here are two more photos of the front of the funeral home and the inside where services will take place.
